Posted by: admin | Date posted: November 7, 2024Two programs of the Nueva Vizcaya State University College of Arts and Sciences Bayombong Campus recently underwent Level 1 Accreditation Visit by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), held on November 4-7, 2024 on various university grounds and via Zoom Conferencing.
The Departments of Computer Science, Information Technology, and Computer Systems (CSITIS) initiated the planning and coordination for the Bachelor of Science in Information Systems (BSIS) program , while the Department of Natural Sciences (NatSci) took the lead for the Bachelor of Science in Biology (BSBio).
The accreditation team initially looked into the following survey areas: Campus, Buildings, Classrooms, Offices and Staff Rooms, Assembly Athletic and Sports Facilities, Medical and Dental Clinic, Student Center, Food Services and Canteen, Accreditation Center, and Housing.
The hybrid opening program took place on November 4, where NVSU key officials and accreditation task forces welcomed the accreditors. This was followed by a breakout session in the afternoon to discuss survey procedures.
Throughout the three-day survey, accreditors meticulously scanned program documents and observed various activities, including a classroom demonstration led by Ms. Carlita G. Segundo on November 6.
The first day also featured interviews with students, alumni, faculty, administrative staff, and representatives of Brgy. Busilac, a beneficiary of CAS extension program. After which, a campus tour, led by Mr. Renato V. Sales, exhibited the facilities available to students and staff.
Meanwhile, Barangay Captain Danny Gines said "Maraming salamat NVSU sa programang ito" during the activity in order to express his gratitude for the positive impact of CAS community-led initiatives.
On November 7, the accreditors visited the BSIS program laboratories, led by Dr. Fidel G. Patricio, Jr., who detailed the facilities’ operational capabilities and readiness, to which one accreditor remarked, "Wala na kaming hahanapin dito sa lab niyo."
The successful accreditation process spearheaded by the concerned CAS departments is part of a bigger, consolidated, and continuing effort by the University to raise its bar for academic and service excellence.
