CAS-Bay Advances in 4th Phase of AACCUP Accreditation

The Nueva Vizcaya State University College of Arts and Sciences Bayombong Campus continues its push for academic excellence as the university welcomed the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) for the 4th Survey Phase 2 Accreditation, on November 6, 2024, 3rd floor of the New Administration Building and via Zoom Conferencing. 

The Master of Science in Teaching major in Mathemarics, offered by the College of Arts and Sciences Graduate School Program, is one among the four programs undergoing the Level 4 Phase 2 Accreditation Survey Visit which focuses on five primary areas: Research, Performance of Graduates, Community Involvement, International Linkages and Consortia, and Well developed Planning Processes

During the Opening Program, Dr. Elma P. Apostol, Vice President for Academic Affairs, extended in her opening remarks a warm welcome to the accreditors and attendees and emphasized the university's commitment to upholding high education standards across its programs. 

Dr. June Grace C. Domingo, University and Board Secretary, presented the NVSU officials who have been pivotal in sustaining an environment of quality and innovation.

The accreditation process then took on a heartfelt note as University President Dr. Wilfredo A. Dumale, Jr. appreciated the AACCUP as well as the accreditation task-force members for their efforts to uplift the standards of education, as he pointed out the necessity for the institution to continuously strive for academic excellence and quality assurance.

After the preliminaries, a series of presentation followed in order to introduce who will be the key players during the entire accreditation process. 

For the introduction of the respective task force of the four concerned colleges, Dr. Lori Shayne A. Busa, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, presented the CAS accreditation task force which is composed of the following: Dr. Lanny Dullas, Mr. Jeffersion Inocencio, Mr. Jay-r Castriciones, Dr. Julius Valderama, Mr. Ruchi Briam James Lagitnay, Mr. Richard Taclay, Ms. Eden Salaguste, Ms. Karen Taclay, Mr. Jay Roy Velasco, and Mr. Jefrey Mendoza.


Dr. Filemon A. Pamittan, Campus Quality Assurance Coordinator, continued by presenting NVSU’s designated coordinators. Dr. Jamie M. Forbes introduced the distinguished accreditors whose valuable expertise will be crucial to the evaluation process.

To provide a comprehensive understanding of NVSU’s quality assurance mechanisms, a video presentation demonstrated the NVSU Accreditation Portal through the Management Information System (MIS), an innovative tool facilitating transparent and efficient data management.

Dr. Jonar I. Yago, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training, capped off the event with his closing remarks by thanking everyone involved for their hard work and dedication. 

With the AACCUP's visit, the CAS-Bay endeavors to live up to its mission to uphold quality standards and cement its contribution toward NVSU’s vision of becoming a leading university in education of the nation.
