CAS Faculty Members Excel at 20th University In-House Review

CAS faculty members presented their project proposals and completed projects, fostering a culture of excellence in research, innovation, and community extension during the 20th University In-House Review (UIHR) for Completed and Ongoing Projects, held on October 26-27, 2023, at the University Gymnasium with the theme "SOAR HIGH: Synergizing Opportunities and Advancement in Research for Development, Extension, and Training: Highlighting Innovations, Growths, and Horizons."

The two-day event convened implementers, evaluators, stakeholders, faculty, staff, and students, providing a platform for knowledge exchange among faculty members who were also project implementers from various colleges of Bayombong and Bambang Campuses. Additionally, an esteemed panel of academics was invited to evaluate the projects and select the Top Three Best Papers in the four categories: Research, Development, Higher Education, and Social Sciences.

Notably, CAS project implementers achieved outstanding recognition in the Social Sciences category. The completed study titled "RAMA: A Locally-based Practice in a Philippine Fishing Community," authored by Associate Professors Fermila A. Cauilan and Mild R. Hombrebueno, secured the second Best Paper award. Meanwhile, the completed study titled "Museo Vizcaino As A Site of Cultural Education: Gearing Towards Pedagogical Learning Laboratory," authored by Romana P. Dulnuan, Mild R. Hombrebueno, and Lionel Luis F. Dumelod, earned the third position.

In the Development category, the project titled "Phase II: Development of Novel Processing Facility for Conversion of Agricultural Products to Ethyl Alcohol and Organic Fertilizer," led by project implementers Lori Shayne A. Busa and Jose R. Comia, Jr., presented a promising contribution to development.

Furthermore, the Ongoing category featured the project titled "Innovative and Sustainable Hybrid Information System (ISHIS) in Nueva Vizcaya: an IT-Based Community Extension Program Toward E-Government," showcasing the continuous efforts of project implementers Vilchor G. Perdido, Michael John R. Robles, and Rodelyn M. Aguinaldo in advancing IT-based community extension.

In the Social Sciences category, the project titled "Flowing Down Magat River: The Story of Five Tributaries," authored by project implementers Joan A. Piñon and Romana P. Dulnuan, who were represented by Nathaniel Aliguyon, offered insights into the historical, cultural, and environmental significance of the region's river system.

The 20th UIHR proved to be a significant platform for celebrating the dedication and achievements of CAS faculty members in the realms of research, innovation, and community development.
