
CAS Faculty Showcases Research, Extension ad 21st University In-House Review, Bags Best Paper Awards
Posted by: admin | Date posted: October 14, 2024Project implementers from the College of Arts and Sciences–Bayombong Campus presented their research and extension outputs at the 21st University In-House Review (UIHR) of Completed and Ongoing Research, Development, and Extension (RDE) Projects, held on October 14–15, 2024, at the NVSU Bambang Campus, with the theme “Expanding Horizons.”
The UIHR was attended by faculty members from both NVSU campuses who are actively engaged in research and extension initiatives, university officials who graced the event’s opening on the first day, and an invited resource speaker along with a panel of evaluators for various categories.
As the two-day academic activity unfolded, participants engaged in panel discussions and feedback sessions in the categories of Research, Development, Higher Education, and Social Sciences, with the aim of addressing local needs and fostering continuous improvement aligned with the university's development goals.
During the closing ceremony, three CAS entries were adjudged as the best papers by the evaluators. These papers are the following:
First Place, Development Category (Completed):
- Title: Innovative and Sustainable Hybrid Information System (ISHIS) in Nueva Vizcaya: An IT-Based Community Extension Program Towards E-Government
- Implementers: Vilchor G. Perdido, Michael John R. Robles, and Rodelyn M. Aguinaldo
First Place, Higher Education Category (Completed):
- Title: Strategic Assessment and Resource Optimization: Establishing the Carrying Enrollment Capacity of Nueva Vizcaya State University – Bayombong Campus
- Implementers: Julius S. Valderama, Richard J. Taclay, and Jubert B. Oligo
Thirds Place, Research Category (Completed):
- Title: Boarding House Finder in the Municipality of Bayombong for NVSU Students
- Implementers: Carmelo Alejo D. Bisquera, Vilchor G. Perdido, and Napoleon Anthony M. Mendoza
The annual review undertaking evaluates the progress of completed and ongoing RDE projects, addresses implementation challenges, updates the R&D agenda, and identifies technologies for further testing, commercialization, or policy development. Approved by the Board of Regents, the UIHR also awards outstanding papers in various categories with certificates and monetary incentives.
