As a post-celebration activity of the 20th Charter Anniversary of Nueva Vizcaya State University, the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) faculty members, led by College Dean Lori Shayne A. Busa, and the college's Student Council officers conducted an outreach activity entitled 'CAS CAreS' (Community Assistance Resources) at Tiblac Elementary School (TES) in Ambaguio, Nueva Vizcaya, on March 26, 2024.

Under the theme "Health Education and Provision of School Supplies through Outreach Program," the CAS department chairs, teachers, and student leaders distributed basic needs such as school supplies, hygiene kits, loot bags, and clothing items to the beneficiaries.

The participants during the outreach program were Brgy. Captain Terson Sabungan, TES pupils, teachers, parents, and CAS faculty members. Also in attendance was Dr. Ariana French, one of the international guests and speakers during the Charter Anniversary, who was invited to observe and experience the culture of the local communities that NVSU serves.

On behalf of Mr. Reynolds Mariano, the TES school head, Mr. John Dulnuan, TES administrative officer, welcomed and appreciated the NVSU CAS extensionists. As a local leader, Mr. Sabungan also shared some words of gratitude for the efforts and willingness of the college and NVSU to conduct an extension program in their community.

Ms. Arnie Sanchez and Mr. Christian Noel Santos, from the Natural Sciences Department, shared basic hygiene practices and their importance in maintaining good health with the pupils. Mr. Joseph Valdez facilitated group games that engaged the pupils in interactive play.

As the program ended, Dr. Busa said the college looked forward to making this initiative between CAS and TES a yearly undertaking. In response, Mrs. Nardeline Jorge, Grade 1 adviser, expressed her joy and gratitude on behalf of the school for the community service of NVSU and CAS.

Mr. Nick Rojas, the CAS extension coordinator, mentioned helping the TES teachers write a project proposal for the activity that the school could use to achieve its goals.
