Posted by: admin | Date posted: September 23, 2024The College of Arts and Sciences Student Council (CASSC) officers demonstrated their dedication to student leadership by spearheading the university's weekly flag-raising ceremonies this morning, September 22, 2024, in front of the new Administration Building.
The elected young officials of the sub-organizations under the college, along with their advisers—some of whom also took the lead in various parts of the ceremonies—were present to show active engagement and support for the sponsoring group.
After the singing of hymns and the recitation of oaths mandated by law, Mr. Mobbyfrance Esteban, CASSC governor, enumerated the highlights of the organization's previous accomplishments.
Following this, Dr. Lori Shayne A. Busa, the college dean, announced the CAS Founding Anniversary celebration, a weeklong endeavor that begins today, as well as the Youth Forum on Voter Awareness and Gender Sensitivity, which will be held today at the Library Reading Room, organized by the college's Department of Social Sciences and Humanities in partnership with the Office of the Regional Election Director (ORED) - Region II and COMELEC-Nueva Vizcaya.
Setting the start of the week on a positive note, Dr. Wilfredo A. Dumale, Jr., the university president, welcomed the COMELEC personnel to the university. He also extended his warm congratulations to the colleges celebrating their anniversaries this September.
In addition, President Dumale updated the NVSU community on several approved infrastructure projects that were made possible through collaboration with various stakeholders and are now underway for implementation.
As one of its best practices in citizenship awareness and participatory leadership, the university alternately requests student organizations to also lead in observing the flag-raising ceremonies, which are typically held every Monday.
