NatSci Department hosts Bio Celeb 2023

Nueva Vizcaya State University's Department of Natural Sciences, a department under the College of Arts and Sciences, successfully organized and hosted the BIO CELEBRATION 2023 from May 29-30.

Under the theme "Biology Beyond Borders: Nurturing Future Biologists Through Global Scientific Awareness and Challenges," BIO CELEBRATION 2023 drew in a diverse audience comprising students, researchers, and industry professionals, all eager to explore the latest advancements in the field of biology. This highly anticipated event had a twofold purpose: to foster global scientific awareness and nurture the development of aspiring biologists.

Day 1 of BIO CELEBRATION 2023 took place within the University Gymnasium. The morning sessions focused on two prominent topics, biotechnology and artificial intelligence, shining a spotlight on their significant contributions to the field of biology. Participants delved into engaging discussions, highlighting the growing importance and potential of these areas. In the afternoon, attendees were treated to a captivating biology exhibit, where research projects and groundbreaking discoveries were put on display. The exhibit provided a platform for participants to gain valuable insights into the ongoing scientific explorations within the field.

Moving on to Day 2, the event relocated to the Dumlao Farmer's Training Center. The morning session commenced with an inspiring message delivered by Daniel Marvin B. Ramel, the esteemed Department Chair of the Natural Science Department. His words resonated with the audience, fueling their enthusiasm and commitment to the field of biology. Following this motivational address, Kristine Jane P. Del Leon took the stage to present her pioneering research on microfluidic paper-based analytical devices. Del Leon's work focused on their application in crucial domains such as clinical, food safety, and environmental monitoring. The presentation shed light on the transformative potential of these devices, which have the capacity to revolutionize various industries and enhance human well-being. Additionally, fourth-year BS Biology students took the opportunity to showcase their theses, unveiling their significant contributions to the scientific community.

In the afternoon, participants actively engaged in team-building activities, fostering an environment of collaboration and networking. These interactive sessions allowed individuals to forge meaningful connections with like-minded professionals, facilitating the exchange of ideas and knowledge-sharing. As the event drew to a close, a prestigious awarding ceremony and a well-curated closing program took center stage. The ceremony served to recognize and appreciate the outstanding contributions of individuals and research teams, while expressing gratitude to the participants, organizers, and sponsors for their unwavering support and dedication.
