NVSU CAS Hosts BatSU for Academic Bridging

The College of Arts and Sciences of the Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) welcomed 18 faculty members, led by College Dean Dr. Anna Maria V. Rivera, from Batangas State University (BatSU) College of Arts and Sciences for an academic bridging initiative today, August 15, 2024.

This one-day initiative served as a platform for both institutions to engage in meaningful dialogue regarding best practices in instruction, research, extension services, innovation, and the integration of gender and development.

President Wilfredo A. Dumale, Jr. personally greeted the BatSU delegation during the latter’s courtesy visit at his office. In his brief message, President Dumale expressed his gratitude and humility in NVSU being chosen as the host institution for this important academic exchange. He also encouraged mutual learning and collaboration between the universities to enhance their academic and research practices.

Following the visit to the president's office, the BatSU delegation was formally received  at the Administration Function Room by Dr. William D. Magday, Jr., OIC Bayombong Campus Administrator, Dr. Lori Shayne A. Busa, College Dean, represented by OIC Dean Dr. Julius S. Valderama, along with the eight program department chairs, two center directors, and selected faculty members from CAS.
During the collaborative session featuring a series of presentations from both universities, the NVSU CAS program chairs and center directors showcased the college's diverse course offerings, ongoing research projects, community extension engagements, and innovative pedagogical practices.

The presentations were followed by a group discussion where participants exchanged insights, raised questions, and provided constructive feedback. In the afternoon, the BatSU faculty members had a campus tour where they visited prominent offices and other key locations within the university.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Magday expressed his hope that this academic bridging activity would pave the way for a stronger working relationship that would benefit both institutions in the long term.
