Posted by: nathan | Date posted: February 15, 2023The Nueva Vizcaya State University's Administrative Management System (AMS) division, Human Resource Development Office, and Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) recently conducted a three-day orientation and onboarding program for new employees. The program was held from February 13–15, 2023, at the University Mini Theater.
The program was participated in by 35 teaching and non-teaching staff members from both campuses, including four teachers from the College of Arts and Sciences.
Themed "Onboarding: it's not just an HR thing; it's getting you involved (and aware)," the program aimed to introduce the new teachers to: employee welfare and other benefits, research and extension services, employee discipline, employee associations, NBC No. 461, administrative policies, Omnibus Rules on Leave, academic matters, nature of appointment, Individual Performance Commitment and Review (IPCR), and public values.
The NVSU provided this program to ensure that the new employees are fully prepared to take on their respective roles and contribute to the university's vision and mission, in line with its mandate to uphold excellence.
Chief Administrative Officer and AMS Director, Dr. Cecile J. Martin, welcomed the new employees and expressed her optimism about the benefits that the program can bring to the new hires. In her statement, she emphasized the importance of the program in helping the employees become "informed, involved, and aware" during their stay at NVSU.
HRMO Head, Atty. Sarah Israelita M. Sagun, reminded the teachers to just "go back to the basics" when in doubt concerning government policies and procedures.
Dr. Jonar I. Yago, VP for Research, Extension, and Training, who served as one of the speakers, challenged the new employees "to set your own roadmap of life at NVSU" and to prioritize "commitment."
This initiative is part of the university's commitment to promoting excellence in all aspects of its operations, including the recruitment and training of new employees. The NVSU hopes that this program will further strengthen its workforce and continue to provide high-quality education to its students.
